The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is one of the most visited and most famous nature reserves in America. The giant abyss spreads over the Colorado Plateau, covering an area of 5 thousand square meters. Geological evidence suggests that the plateau was at the bottom of the sea for a long time, but now there is a river flowing through the bottom of the canyon. It was the river that formed the canyon. Initially, the river flowed in the plain, but as a result of the plateau rise, the angle of the river and the speed of flow have changed. The river has been destroying rocks for millions of years. And that’s how the Canyon was formed.

It’s visited by almost 4 million people every year. There are several ways to get to know the canyon. These are buses on four routes. There are several hiking routes and you can rent a bike.
You should pay special attention to the SkyWalk Bridge. The bridge can accommodate 100 tourists at a time. The bridge can withstand earthquakes of 8 points and winds of 160 km/h. The bridge is 3 m wide and 42 m long. And the most interesting thing is that no cranes were used during the construction, the bridge was gradually pulled out of the mountain, and this happened in 2007.
If you are on the west coast of the United States, visit the Grand Canyon in Arizona and be sure to walk on the bridge.
